2017 Garden Update

 

Tree Removal ….’timberrrr’!

Our tree was so big and the large roots were very high posing a risk of damaging our water meter and sewer drain. My next project is to repair the lawn.

 

 

Yard Clean-up

We had all the greenery cleaned off of the fence.  It looks so much larger.

 

Watermelon….

I picked my watermelon last week and decided to cut it today.  It tastes pretty good.

It has lots of seeds which I’ll keep for planting next spring, Lord willing.

 

 

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven…a time to sow and a time to reap.

Nectarines and Tomatoes

Well I need to get started peeling these nectarines it’s time to jam!

My tomato plants are producing like wildfire!

 

Pickles: hamburger chips and spears

I made my first batch of zucchini bread last week and yesterday I canned some pickles!

     

Proverbs 31:10  Who can find a virtuous woman, her price is far above rubies…vs. 16  b,…with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

 

 

Harvest time in my back yard

Today I did research on when to harvest cabbage.  I had 3 that were ready.

We had that big one for dinner tonight with some cornbread and chicken, mmm sure was good.

The tomatoes and zucchini were picked this weekend.  It’s time for zucchini bread.  Put your orders in now!

Bountiful Blessing

Matthew 13:3…behold, a sower went forth to sow…some fell onto good ground  and brought fruit…

My my first harvest of zucchini and cucumber…one so far.  Temperatures now are reaching 100 degrees so the garden will definitely bring forth some good produce soon.
